A commercial greenhouse film order can include several widths, cut lengths and quantities. At our stocking and cutting yard in Camarillo, California, we prepare those cuts from master rolls, then wrap, label and secure the finished rolls for pickup.
From the master roll to your cut length
The film arrives on a master roll, folded across its width and wound around a core. Unrolling releases the length; unfolding opens the sheet to its full width. This is how a wide greenhouse cover fits on a much narrower roll.
For longer cuts, we rewind the film onto a cardboard core for easier handling when the order arrives. When cutting rolls, we always add approximately 4–5 feet to the length ordered. It’s better to have extra than not enough. Smaller pieces, roughly 5 to 50 feet long, may be folded further to fit into a smaller box.

Buying a full master roll
A full master roll can supply film for several tunnels, with the individual lengths measured and cut at the farm. GHP's stocked master-roll option is 6 mil Hoop House plastic. Sizes include 24 ft × 2,720 ft and 32 ft × 2,040 ft, so the length supplied varies with the width.
Plan unloading and handling before delivery. Confirm the weight of the roll you are ordering and make sure your farm has suitable equipment to move it. When comparing a full roll with custom cuts, include freight and the cutting work your crew will do on site. Our master-roll page lists sizes and includes a freight estimate by ZIP code.
Packed with extra care
Each roll is wrapped for protection, clearly labeled, and secured for pickup. These orders show the finished work: protective wrapping around the film, handwritten markings on roll ends, and straps and boards securing rolls to pallets.
See your packaged order before pickup
For many larger orders, we email photos of the packaged rolls before pickup. The email also lists the ordered products, dimensions and quantities, and the shipping address.
Receiving the rolls
Check the delivered rolls against the order details and inspect them for visible transport damage.
If you find damage, photograph it and contact us before installing the film. Keep the roll labels. Until installation, store the film horizontally in its original packaging, in a cool, shaded place out of direct sunlight.
